Letho of Guletalso known as the Kingslayerwas a witcher from the School of the Viper. His closest associates were Auckes and Serritalso kingslayers and fellow witchers from the School of the Viper. Letho enlisted the help of Iorveth and the Scoia'tael to aid him in his plan to kill the kings of the Northern Kingdoms ; to back his claim, the Viper showed Iorveth a head that belonged to Demavend IIIthe king of Aedirnwhom Letho had previously slain.
In the forests of Angren on July 25,Letho was near death after being struck by a slyzard 's tail but Geralta witcher from the School of the Wolffound and saved him while racing after the Wild Hunt to rescue Yennefer. As thanks for saving his life, Letho and his fellow witcher companions traveled with Geralt and eventually caught up with the Red Riders at the Hanged Man's Tree.
Despite the witchers' skill, they couldn't defeat all the warriors and a stalemate ensued before Geralt offered himself in exchange for Yennefer. Feeling it'd be disrespectful to Geralt to just leave the sorceress somewhere, Letho and the witchers took care of her.
However, she was in pain, suffering from amnesia and caused an endless source of trouble for the group, which, sticker you the Nilfgaardian Empirecould mean her death for being an unruly sorceress. While the group traveled constantly to try and keep from being caught, they eventually were detained and thrown in jail.
However, Emperor Emhyr var Emreis himself approached Letho and offered him a deal he couldn't refuse: sow chaos in the North, kill some of their rulers, and the emperor would have the School of the Viper rebuilt. Thus, inLetho snuck onboard Demavend's ship out on the Pontar and, using a Northern Wind -based capsule, froze most of the ship and nearly everyone on board except a handful that were protected by Abelard 's counter spell.
However, this wasn't enough and all the guards fell to Letho's blade before he rounded on the king and killed him, then cut off his head for proof. He then sought out Iorveth with the head in tow and asked for the Scoia'tael's assistance in killing King Foltest of Temeria. While their first attempt on Foltest's life failed due to Geralt being there at the same time of the attack, the kingslayers planned another attempt, this time for Letho to pose as a monk guarding over the king's children at La Valette Castle.
After successfully taking over the castle, Foltest appeared with Geralt, now acting as a bodyguard, and the king asked for Geralt to give him and the children some space. With his back turned, Geralt heard the attack too late as Letho revealed himself just before he killed Foltest and fled out a window, leaving Geralt to be wrongly accused of regicide.
Shortly after this assassination, Letho attempted to betray Iorveth by turning one of his lieutenants against him. However, the elf refused, Letho killed his entire command to cover his tracks and left the elf to be captured by Flotsam 's guards. In an attempt to catch Letho, Geralt, who now knew that Iorveth had been in league with the kingslayer, brought the elf to the Viper as a ruse to expose the latter's treachery.
However, Iorveth and his Scoia'tael were attacked by the Blue Stripesleaving Geralt and Letho to battle each other. Letho prevailed in the battle with Geralt, but once the Wolf was down, he didn't kill him.If you did happen to choose to let Letho live even after all that he did in the last game, you will come across him during the sidequest The Fall of the House of Reardon picked up from Lindenvale.
A woman will ask you to check out her old estate that has been overrun by monsters. Once Geralt arrives, he will find a barn full of booby traps that you can either disarm or choose to ignore.
Head to the back of the barn and fix the ladder so that you can climb up and reveal Letho hiding from some enemies. Jump down and show off your sword skills in order to help an old friend, of sorts. After slaying the groups of scouts, you will have the opportunity to ride with Letho to the old acquaintance who sold him out. Go ahead and take care of that traitor as well. Letho will face a bounty hunter, but before doing so he asks that you not interfere no matter what happens. He then goes into battle solo where he falls to a crossbow.
This is when Geralt must make his first decision: does he kill those who have slain his friend, or does he not interfere? It turns out that Letho had this whole thing planned and was trying to fake his own death. If Geralt chooses to kill the bounty hunters then there are no witnesses to spread the woven tale, setting Letho free once and for all.
Of course, the decision is ultimately up to you. So how did you feel when you stumbled across the Witcher who almost ruined your life? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments. Connect with us. Continue Reading. Related Topics: beatHow tolethomissionMultiPostquestwild huntwitcher 3.

Depending on how familiar you are with the world, including all the games and books, you may or may not know much about him. Those who only played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or watched the Netflix series will likely not know a lot about Letho's background. He has had a large role, playing both antihero, adversary, and even ally, to Geralt.
His past is a complicated one and the following list reveals some intriguing facts you might not have known about the witcher. For those who have never played a game in The Witcher universe before, you might miss out on your chance to meet Letho altogether. The same goes for when you're questioned early in the game, if you say you didn't spare Letho, then he won't appear. Depending on how much knowledge you have about the overall franchise, you might not be aware that Letho is one of the few remaining witchers in existence alongside Geralt himself, Vesemirand a few others.
If you manage to kill Letho in the game, then that makes the numbers dwindle down even lower. You can also get the ending in the game that will allow Ciri to go on and become a fully trained Witcher herself, she'll be the first new one in a long time. Did you know that Letho has a somewhat familiar nickname? The comparisons mostly stop there but it's interesting to see two very popular fantasy franchises both have notable characters who have made a reputation for themselves by murdering a couple of kings.
That said, "kingslayer" is actually a fairly common term in fantasy but there is a lot of overlap between the two fandoms and they like to compare and contrast Letho and Jaime. A lot of fans were introduced to The Witcher universe by playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and therefore never had the opportunity to play The Witcher 2.
As such, they may not realize what Letho's appearance in The Witcher 3 truly means. He was actually the main antagonist in the second game, as he worked for King Foltest as his hired killer to take out other kings in the Northern Realm.
Letho and Geralt eventually have to face-off against each other in a final duel. Geralt is one of the best out there when it comes to combat. He is easily one of the most formidable witchers in existence.Witcher 3 ► FINAL BATTLE - Defeating Eredin and the Wild Hunt
It is very hard to beat him in a fight, but Letho managed to do it. He is one of only two people that has ever bested Geralt. The other was a powerful sorcerer. But, Letho could have killed him if he wanted to, he only stopped because Geralt once saved his life and he felt he owed it to him to pay him back.
Geralt has a "code" that he refers to often, both in the books and in the games. There is technically no real rule book for witchers but Geralt operates by a strict code and one of those rules decrees that he will not kill another witcher.
Well, that rule is thrown out the window on a few occasions. He has to make some hard decisions when it pertains to witchers causing harm to people, such as in the case of Letho, who you have the option to kill multiple times.
If you decide you don't want to invite Letho with you to fight together at Kaer Morhenthen he will discuss the possibility of going to Zerrikania, which is a realm known for being a matriarchal society.
Letho says that he would go there since he believes women should be in charge. The way he says it is delivered in his typical ambiguous manner so it's nearly impossible to tell if he's being serious or not, but it certainly gives fans something to consider. Letho and Geralt met because Letho was on the verge of death after getting hit by the tail end of a Slyzard in the forests of Angren. Geralt ended up saving Letho's life, which is why the other witcher spared Geralt after defeating him in battle in the second game.
Slyzards are massive, gray, flying reptiles. They can grow as large as a dragon and when they swing their tail at you, it can end your life quite fast. Even the most skilled witchers cannot reflect the blow.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language. Install Steam. Store Page.

This whole downgrade fiasco makes me not wanna replay 2 and finish 1. Instead of playing Dragon Age 2 because I find its combat slighty funner than Inquistion. Axion View Profile View Posts.
No killed him. I wasn't going to let him walk away and kill more kings He was still working for Nilfguard after all Edit : Realised that NIlfguard didn't need to kill any more kings. There is already enough chaos. Last edited by Axion ; 14 May, am. Hesgad View Profile View Posts. I did when I first played through it. I had no potions and didn't feel like getting into another big fight. So after everything he did I was like nah we cool man. Yes in 3 gameplay, he is a good guy in my book, and done a lot for Geralt too Killed him once just for the fight.
He is really good in any range. Chashmodai View Profile View Posts. Of course I let him go. I think he was one of the most interesting characters in videogaming. I wanted to meet him in W3, so I let him live. In my second ,wich i consider my true run i let him go because it really is like he said that he and Geralt were never enemys to begin with.

CD Projekt RED included a mechanic in-game that will allow players to establish the world state in this latest entry to the series.
Warning, there are spoilers ahead! During this prologue you will have the opportunity to face Aryan La Valette, the commanding officer of the armies Geralt is currently in battle with and the son of the Baroness. Just happened that way. Sparing his life, however, leads Aryan and Geralt to cross paths yet again, only this time in the dungeons of La Valette.
Aryan helps Geralt escape. Geralt then comes across Aryan once more in Loc Muinne. Only time will tell. During the events of the second entry in the series, Geralt had to make a rather important decision that displayed who he allied with. Vernon Roche is the commander of the Blue Stripes, which serves as the special forces branch of the Temerian military.
After the assassination of King Foltest, everyone is after Geralt of Rivia. Vernon Roche is one of the only people who believes in Geralt is innocent and offers to help track down the true assassin of the king. For this reason, Iorveth vows to fight, and kill, in order to achieve civil rights for everyone. Iorveth does not work within the realm of morals, slaying hundreds if not thousands of innocents to reach his goal. Siding with him is siding against humanity. This question will actually have two completely different answers depending on whether you sided with Vernon Roche, or Iorveth in the previous question.
This is because that decision splits the story completely, opening up certain avenues while completely closing off others. As mentioned during the last question, both Vernon and Iorveth have completely different motives, so they want very different things. Anais La Valette is believed to be the bastard child of the assassinated King Foltest.
For that reason Vernon Roche desires to rescue her in order to try and restore balance to the region of Temeria. Helping Saskia is more of a favor to Iorveth. She is actually a powerful dragon who assumes the form of a human, but has come under the control of one Philippa Eilhart, a powerful sorceress who has put Saskia under a sort of mind control. Completing this quest leads to one of the largest witch hunts ever known.
After finding out that Sile de Tansarville had a hand in the assassination of kings, the powerful sorceress goes on the run.
